One of the best pieces of advice for maintaining calm is to keep to a routine at home to give the whole family a sense of normalcy.
- Be grateful
Talk with your child about things that make you happy (how about sunshine and breakup?!) and appreciate the wonderful things in life together. - Get outside
There’s so much more sunshine this time of year, so make sure to get some free vitamin D while enjoying our great Alaskan wilderness.
- Sit down to meals together
Eating together at the table is even easier than ever before. Depending on the age of your child, you could also have fun making meals together. - Stay in contact with family and friends
We are lucky to have tons of tech options to keep us talking to those we love. So even if you’re under quarantine, make sure to reach out by phone or video.
- Keep your sense of humor & have fun
Read silly books, sing, dance, and tell jokes. If you’re game, let your child pick out what you wear for the day. Make a cozy fort. If you haven’t already become obsessed with the Corona Song from Vietnam, check it out and learn the dance! - Limit screen time
We all need downtime, especially now. Just make sure to keep your healthy limits taking into consideration all the extra screen time your child might be having as you FaceTime or video chat with friends and family.
