Go on a Letter Scavenger Hunt!
Take a look around your home and your neighborhood to see what letters you can find! *This activity is definitely inspired by wordless books that feature found objects that look like letters: Alphabet City by Stephen T. Johnson and The City ABC Book by Zoran Milich
Block Letters
Use blocks or Duplo to create the letters of the alphabet. Not sure what this looks like? There are tons of free templates (like this one) to get you inspired to start making your own letters and words at home.
Letter Puzzles
If your child enjoys a puzzle, investing in a simple alphabet puzzle is a good idea (check out thrift store or ask for hand me downs from friends). Having a puzzle that your child can revisit over and over is a great way for them to take in the look of the letters on a regular basis.
Craft some Name Art
Work with your child to paint or color their name on a large piece of paper that can be displayed where they can see it. Once the crafting is done, you can keep using this piece of art to talk about the letters that make up your child’s name and let them trace the letters.
