Celebrate the 18th Anniversary of Anchorage Imagination Library!
Anchorage Imagination Library is thrilled to announce a special event celebrating its 18th birthday on Friday, June 7, from 12 PM to 4 PM at Fresh Cup Playhouse. This milestone event, hosted by Best Beginnings and Fresh Cup Playhouse, promises a fun-filled day for families with young children, dedicated to fostering early literacy and community spirit.

Activities and Highlights:
- Free Crafts and Activities: Children ages 0-6 can enjoy a variety of free crafts and activities designed to inspire creativity and imagination.
- Playhouse Access: For a small fee, little ones can play in the delightful indoor playhouse.
- Delicious Offerings: Fresh Cup Playhouse will have a variety of drinks, coffee, snacks, and pizza available for purchase.
- Supporting a Cause: A portion of all sales from the event will be donated back to Anchorage Imagination Library, supporting early literacy programs in our community.
Anchorage Imagination Library has been dedicated to providing free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, promoting a love of reading and ensuring every child in our community has access to books from an early age. This celebration marks 18 years of making a difference in the lives of Anchorage’s youngest readers. Today the program serves over 4,850 children each month, and have served 42,669 young children since its beginnings in 2006. This milestone achievement comes shortly after the program, which due to budget constraints had been closing operations in many parts of Anchorage since 2021, received a significant boost in city funding from alcohol tax revenue early this year. Allowing Best Beginnings to offer the Imagination Library program once again citywide, enrolling over 600 new kids to receive books monthly in the mail over the past 7 months.
“We are excited to celebrate this significant milestone with the families who have supported us over the years,” said Amie Collins, Executive Director of Best Beginnings, the nonprofit who has been running Anchorage Imagination Library for over a decade. “This event is a wonderful opportunity to honor our community’s commitment to early literacy and enjoy a fun-filled day with our supporters and families.”
Fresh Cup Playhouse, known for its family-friendly environment, is the perfect venue to host this joyous occasion. “We are proud to partner with Anchorage Imagination Library for this celebration,” continued Collins. “Together, we can create a memorable event that underscores the importance of reading and community support.”
