Alaska children entering kindergarten are screened by their teachers in different educational domains that produces their “grade” for the Alaska Developmental Profile (ADP). Perhaps surprisingly to parents, one of the domains is physical well-being that includes gross (large muscle, think legs and arms). Alaska children have unique options to work on these skills as they spend time outdoors.
