Take a look at our new website! A component of our three-year plan, the website has been redesigned with parents of young children in mind. It has a fresh, contemporary, clean look, and parents are telling us how easy it is to navigate.
From the homepage, you can easily go to the main buckets for content:
- Growing Readers — Kindergarten readiness starts with reading.
- Building Strong Families — Parents are a child’s first and most influential teacher.
- Engaging Community — If all Alaska children are to begin school ready to succeed, Alaskans must be behind them.
Moving down the homepage, you will see three featured areas:
We added Kids & Media to our new site because there is so much interest and activity in this area these days and often conflicting advice.
For this and other topics and areas, we have included tips and guidance for parents along with resources, research, and reports if you want to dig deeper.
Each page has a testimonial from a parent or caregiver about the value of early learning and the homepage features a “tip of the day” for a quick read and reminder.
The photos are almost all of Alaska children and families – you may recognize some of them! And, of course, there’s a donate button.
We hope you take a tour of the new website and come back often for more. Let us know what you think!
