This month we are challenging you to up your sensory play! Without a doubt, your family already plays together in a way that stimulates your child’s senses of taste, touch, smell, hearing, and sight. When children use their senses while playing, there is a greater potential for connections to be made between experiences and new vocabulary and a new understanding of the world around them.
Summer is a perfect time to go all out by extending your play into the outdoors. If you’re a fan of immersive (and sometimes messy) activities, the outdoors give you a chance to all in. But to be clear, if you’re not a fan of mess, there are plenty of options that are not sticky or gooey.
P.S. If you want to get a head start on some fun sensory ideas, check out this list.
