The Dolly Parton Imagination Library launched in Southeast Alaska in 2006, and thanks to ongoing support and matching funds from Best Beginnings has grown to serve over 1,800 children in 12 Southeast communities. In the fall of 2013, we celebrated delivery of the first 100,000 books! Thanks to the support of many volunteers, all the funds raised in each community go directly to the books for local children.
Just like the ferry connects all our island communities, the love of favorite Imagination Library books connects children in Angoon, Craig, Gustavus, Haines, Hoonah, Juneau, Kake, Klawock, Petersburg, Sitka, Skagway, Tenakee, Wrangell, and Yakutat.
Enrolled preschool aged children in Juneau are invited to monthly Family Night events September through May. Please watch our lively and fun video of these Family Nights >>
