Once again Best Beginnings announces funding for community-based early childhood partnerships as part of the development of a statewide early childhood system. This system will result in improved collaboration at the state level and increased decision-making at the local level.
The new partnerships will join nine other established sites established in 2009 in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Gustavus, Homer, Hoonah, Juneau, Ketchikan, Kodiak, and Mat Su. Best Beginnings is the statewide public-private partnership that mobilizes people and resources to ensure all Alaska children begin school ready to succeed.
Eligible Applicants
Advocates and groups interested in establishing or enhancing an early childhood partnership in their defined service area are encouraged to apply. A partnership service area is a school district, or other geographic area as determined in conjunction with Best Beginnings.
What Will Be Funded
Applications that will result in long-term, sustainable early childhood partnerships that have measureable outcomes will be funded.
