Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Alaska

Best Beginnings is bringing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library home to children in Alaska.

Imagination Library mails a free, high-quality, brand-new book each month to children from birth to age 5 who live in communities that support the program. The first book for every child is The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper. After that, all books are age-appropriate.

But it’s more than a book delivery program, it’s a Get-the-Whole-Community-Involved-in-Reading-to-Kids Program! So our website provides extra resources to make reading to your child even more enjoyable. And across the state, local committees are adding family nights and special programs to make the books come alive, too.

To enroll your child, check if there is an Imagination Library in your community. If there isn’t and you’d like to consider organizing one, contact Best Beginnings.
